Frank HornerSeptember 7, 1942 ~ April 30, 2017 (age 74)
Age 74 of South Webster, passed away April 30, 2017 at SOMC in Portsmouth. He was born September 7, 1942 in South Webster, the son of the late Harmon Estel and Dorothy (Moore) Horner. Frank had retired as a custodian at Wheelersburg High School, had also retired from Lone Star Cement, and was a longtime logger. Most of all, he enjoyed taking care of his animals and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
For Frank, it was all about his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carol Jean Delong Horner, who he married on June 24, 1961; one daughter whom he loved dearly and was his world, Vicky Marie Roe (Darrin); two grandsons, Nikolaus Keith Roe (Tabitha) of Columbus and Walker Dakota Roe of Wheelersburg; one brother, Earl Horner (Jennie); one sister, Linda Mullins; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Chopper the mule. As everyone knew, Frank was an animal lover. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Carol Smith and Betty Johnson; brothers, Jess Horner and Richard Horner in infancy.
The family would like to thank Dr. Leo Rosenberg, Dr. Jared Bentley, and Dr. Tanke for their special care in helping Frank. They would also like to thank Nick Cartee and Jacob Patterson for their love and support and a special thank you to Oliva Morgan for the love and attention she gave Frank while he was at SOMC. She is a special angel and we love you, Oliva.
