Age 73 of South Webster, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, July 7, 2017. He was a devoted husband of 35 years to his wife, Judy (Cooper) Fitzpatrick. Born in Kermit, WV on December 2, 1943, he was the son of the late Ed and Mae Fitzpatrick. Paul graduated from Kermit High School in 1961. He then entered the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He retired from the New Boston Coke Plant. Paul loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed watching any and all sports, but he especially loved sitting out on the porch and listening to his beloved Cincinnati Reds on the radio.
Paul leaves behind his wife, Judy; one daughter, Lisa (Mike) Cassidy; two sons, Randy (Amy) McGuire and JD (Molly) Whitman; eight grandchildren that he adored, Alexis Patrick, Flip and Brett Cassidy, Jake, Joe, and Luke McGuire, Maggie and Sydney Whitman; as well as two great-grandchildren, Abigail Patrick and Chase Cassidy; three brothers, Elbert, Todd, and Clyde Fitzpatrick; one sister, Phyllis Messer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, his twin brother who died at birth as well as Roy and Emory Fitzpatrick; six sisters, Edra Newsome, Thelma Brown, Ruth Powell, Pauline Crawford, Juanita Parsley, and Elaine Lewis.
Services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with visitation from 5 – 7 p.m. Military honors will be provided at 5:00 p.m. by James Dickey Post #23, American Legion. Online condolences may be shared at www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com.
