Age 36, of Franklin Furnace, died December 21, 2007 in South Portsmouth, Kentucky as the result of a traffic accident. She was born October 30, 1971 in Portsmouth to Lora and Gregory Coll. She graduated from Green High School in 1990 and received her associate degree in Business Management from Shawnee State University. Michele worked at Friedmans Jewelers in New Boston. She loved to travel and had been fortunate to live in Los Angeles and then Hawaii for a short time. Many vacations were spent on the beach on the east coast. She was an avid animal lover and rescuer, and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Michele had very kind heart and could light up a room with her wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by her daughter, Hannah Michele Hurley; mother, Lora Spindler and stepfather, Willie Spindler of Franklin Furnace; stepmother, Linda Coll of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Chris Spindler of Franklin Furnace; two stepbrothers, John Matelone and Harold (Tammy) Matelone, both of Los Angeles, CA; many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She had also remained very close to the family of her former in-laws, Bob and Brenda Hurley of Wheelersburg as well as many members of the Coll family in Jackson. She was preceded in death by her father, Gregory Coll in October of 2007; grandparents, Maurice and Cereta Coll, Delbert and Betty Stallard, and Richard and Lucille Spindler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville with Pastor Tim Throckmorton officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the U.S. Bank in New Boston for the support of her daughter, Hannah.
