Ralph M. Nolfi, 79, passed away on August 18, 2018 after battling cancer. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, surrounded by family and friends.
Ralph was an active member of the community, an avid golfer, and a philanthropist who was known for his hard work, honesty, and great sense of humor. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1939 to Neva Nolfi after she emigrated from Italy. He never knew his father, a soldier in the Italian Army, but he became very close with his stepfather, Domenic DiTomaso.
In 1990 he married the love of his life, Judy Goddard, and together they built a home and settled down in Wheelersburg, Ohio. He was an active member in the Catholic Church and an integral part of the local Kiwanis chapter.
Ralph was an engineer and machinist, working for Goodyear Tire and Rubber and Goodyear Atomic before transitioning to Martin Marietta Energy Systems and eventually Lockheed Martin. He worked closely with the Department of Energy to oversee plant management and the advancement of uranium enrichment. After retiring, he started his own appraisal business, allowing him to continue to keep his mind active well into his seventies.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, stepfather, and a younger brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Nolfi; one brother; two sisters; four sons, Michael Nolfi, David Nolfi, Rick Goddard, and David Goddard; one daughter, Kathy Weaver; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
